Hospitalization

Hospital Veterinário do Restelo has a wide area to give comfortable care to our admitted patients.

 

Hospitalization is fundamental to patients whose health is in critical state or with a high life risk demanding permanent medical assistance; to patients in surgical recovery or preparation; to patients undergoing certain treatments whose efficiency depends on hospital care ( such as fluid therapy, blood transfusions, frequent injectable medication).

 

In hospitalization there are three resident veterinarians who work in shifts and whose function is to provide care to the admitted animals, with the support of the entire hospital’s clinical staff, through the discussion of cases and the close connection to every other hospital service. A team of eight veterinary nurses and veterinary technicians properly trained to, exclusively dedicated to the well being and recovery of hospitalized patients.

 

It’s during Hospitalization that we can many times solve the most complicated situations, since it allows us to closely observe the patient’s symptoms particularly, and it’s clinical evolution that other way wouldn’t as evident.
